1. Historical Significance:  “Bharatvarsh” is a term commonly used in ancient Indian texts and literature to refer to the Indian subcontinent. 

2. Etymology:  The term “Bharatvarsh” is derived from two Sanskrit words: “Bharat” refers to King Bharata, an ancient legendary emperor, and “Varsha” means region or land. 

3.Geographical Scope: Bharatvarsh generally covers the entire Indian subcontinent, including present-day India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and parts of Afghanistan. 

4.Cultural Identity : It means the common cultural and historical heritage among the people of the Indian subcontinent, including different linguistic, religious and ethnic groups.
